How to set up donations on Kick

Kick already treats streamers well on its own features: it passes on 95% of subs and KICKs. What it does not offer is a way for viewers to send any amount they like without a Kick account. A tip link fills that gap. This guide shows how to set up donations on Kick step by step, what each route leaves you and how to show tips and subs in one OBS alert queue.

Set up donations on Kick in four steps

  1. Create your free page on donolink.us and connect Stripe for payouts in dollars.
  2. Add a Support panel with your link to the About tab on Kick.
  3. Add a !tip command to your chat bot.
  4. Connect Kick, add the alerts to OBS and fire a test alert.

Subs, KICKs or a tip link: the three routes

A Kick sub costs a flat $5 a month and the streamer receives $4.75 of it, gifted subs included. KICKs are Kick's own tipping currency: viewers buy them on Kick and send them in chat, and the streamer receives 95% of their value. Kick sets the prices and pays streamers through Stripe.

Both routes are generous, so be clear about what a tip link adds. Subs and KICKs need a Kick account, KICKs come in set steps, and subs only open once you meet Kick's requirements; receiving KICKs also needs Streamer status. A tip link lets anyone send any amount, from your very first stream.

What a $10 tip leaves you

On a $10 card tip, Stripe takes $0.59 and DonoLink $0.35, so $9.06 reaches you. That is a little less than Kick's 95% share, and the honest reason to add a tip link is reach, not price: viewers who will never make a Kick account still tip in two taps.

Viewers pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, plus Amazon Pay once Stripe has activated it for your account. PayPal is coming soon, and Venmo is not offered.

Step 1: add a Support panel to your About tab

Open your channel on kick.com, go to the About tab and click Edit Panels. Add a panel with a title such as Support the stream, an image and your DonoLink link, then save it and check the result while signed out. Use the same page name as on Twitch or YouTube so viewers recognize it.

Step 2: a !tip command in chat

Not every viewer scrolls down to the panels. If you run a chat bot on Kick, add a !tip command that replies with your link, and ask your moderators to use the command instead of pasting links, so everyone sees the same official address.

Step 3: alerts for tips, follows and subs

Copy the alerts URL from your DonoLink dashboard and add it to OBS as a browser source, or let the wizard do it. Then connect your Kick channel: new follows, subs, renewals and gifted subs join your tips in the same alert queue, each with its own style. A goal bar, recent tips and a top donor leaderboard are included; KICKs keep showing in Kick's own chat.

For viewers: how to donate on Kick

Viewers open the link in your About tab or chat, check your name and photo, choose an amount and pay. A tip needs no Kick or DonoLink account; subs and KICKs stay purchases inside Kick.
