Picking a tip platform in 2026 means comparing more than a fee. This guide lines up Streamlabs, StreamElements, Ko-fi, Fourthwall, Buy Me a Coffee, Patreon, PayPal and DonoLink for US streamers: what you keep in dollars, who holds the money, and how tips show up on stream. DonoLink wrote it, and we are upfront about where others cost less.
Streamlabs, StreamElements and Fourthwall take 0% on tips, and Ko-fi does too once you switch off its Contributor status (new pages start with a 5% fee). They are cheaper on paper than DonoLink; payment processing still applies. Streamlabs charges a 0.5% withdrawal fee, 2% on currency conversion and $15 per chargeback, and Streamlabs Ultra runs $15.75 to $27 a month for its extras.
StreamElements' legacy SE.Pay has stopped taking tips and closes on December 31, 2026; card tips there now require your own Stripe account.
PayPal is close on price: on a $5 tip it takes about 66¢, slightly more than DonoLink and Stripe together, and the two break even around $6.50. The catch is control: funds can be held up to 21 days for new sellers and disputes around $20 are not protected.
Buy Me a Coffee charges 5% and Patreon 10% on new pages. Inside the streaming platforms, Twitch Bits leave you around 71%, subs around 50%, YouTube Super Chat 70% and TikTok LIVE gifts around half.
DonoLink charges 3.5% per successful tip with no monthly plan. Tips land on your own Stripe account and pay out in dollars; a $10 card tip leaves you $9.06. Viewers pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, plus Amazon Pay once Stripe has activated it for your account. PayPal is coming soon, and Venmo is not offered.
Alerts by amount, text-to-speech, a goal bar, a leaderboard and media share are included, with a wizard that installs everything in OBS.
Want the absolute lowest fee? Use a 0% tool. Want your tips on your own Stripe account, Apple Pay and Google Pay for viewers, and alerts without a subscription? That is what DonoLink is built for.
